Workshop Stephie Butler

Mijn vriendin Stephie Butler uit Londen komt naar Nederland om een workshop te geven. Zij schildert portretten in aquarel.

Batik

Time to update the blog, it's far to long ago. Lots of paintings done in the last half year.

First of all a painting of last June 2013. I spent a week with my friend Stephie in London and Penny  came over for a day so we could all paint together. Such a lovely day. Lots of chatter ofcourse, but we also played with wax and watercolour. This is the result of it.

Major

Last one for the moment is a repost of my dog Major.
Unfortunately after 16 years we had to let her go on June 14, 2013.
She will always be a sweet memory.

A new life.

Laat je rommel achter je.

Op een moment in je leven moet je je ontdoen van veel rommel.
Je verzamelt en bewaart enorm veel, spul dat je nooit meer gebruikt.
Alles neemt ruimte in beslag.
In je huis en in je hoofd.
Ruim op ………
En er is weer een gevoel van vrijheid om je heen.
Om te vullen met nieuwe dingen.
Laat het leven op je af komen, dag voor dag en geniet van iedere minuut.

Leave your clutter behind you.

At one time in your life you have to clear your clutter.
You gather and store lots of rubbish you never use.
Everything takes a space.
In your home and in your head.
Clear your clutter………..
There will be a feeling of freedom around you
To fill with new things.
Let life come to you day by day and enjoy every minute.

Elisabeth and Wendy

The last few weeks I was busy with some portraits. I made 4 but I'm allowed to post the ones of Elisabeth and Wendy. Mother and daughter.
I really enjoyed painting these. I was lucky to get some pictures with lovely lights on the faces. And natural light. Good pictures make it more enjoyable to paint .
I was happy to hear they loved the paintings. :-))

Meditatie

Acrylic, 50x70 cm.
Meditatie

De beweging van de zee
Het geluid van de golven
Ik kijk ernaar en luister
Tranen stromen over mijn wangen
Soms van verdriet
Maar ook van geluk
De wind blaast ze op het water
Golven nemen ze mee
Naar de diepte van de oceaan
Weg zijn alle zorgen
Ik kijk nog even naar
de prachtige ondergaande zon
en ga naar huis……… ontspannen.

Meditation

The movement of the sea
The sound of the waves
I watch it and I hear it
Tears running down my cheeks
Sometimes of grief
But also of happiness
The wind blows them into the water
Waves take them
Into the depth of the ocean
Gone are all the sorrows
For a moment I watch
the beautiful sunset
and I’m going home..... relaxed.

English landscape

Finally some watercolour painting again...........
I had the background done ages ago, and when I went through the unfinished paintings, I thought this could  be an English landscape with the mountains. For the foreground I used a photo of my friend Stephie to finish it.
A quarter sheet Arches.

The Major

My dog...The Major... a Jack Russell terrier is 14 years old now, and this is the second time I painted her.
Once in watercolour and now in................... watermixable oil paint.

Stephie and I saw a demonstration at the David Shepherd Wildlife Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London,
Mandy Shepherd and Emily Lamb were demonstrating there.

I ordered the watermixable oilpaint because I liked it so much and it does work fine.
No terpetine, no smell. Fantastic!! The brand I could order here is Cobra.

Oil on linnen, 12x16", 30x40 cm.

Exhibition

Yesterday I hang the paintings for an exhibiton in a homecare called St. Jozef house.
The paintings are from members of the artgroup I join in the winter season.

The exhibition started June 15 and will last till October 15, 2011

At least the people in the homecare had really possitive feedback and enjoyed the paintings.
Ofcourse there are a lot of people visiting their mum or dad who have to stay in there because they can't live on their own anymore. Which means a lot of views biggrin.gif

3 of my acrylic paintings hang there. Totally there are 26 paintings hanging.

brushwithwater/001_crossfingers.gif for some sales.
