During my husbands stay in the hospital (4 weeks) I painted a little, and this was so nice to do.

The example was a bunch of flowers. Painted from life.
The posts below were from half November. I was home for 2 days from London when something terrible happened. My husband broke his arm, without an accident, just like that.
In the hospital they started searching for the cause of that broken arm. After a week we knew he had cancer, Kahler disease. There is no cure for it, but with chemo therapy he might live for another few years. It's terrible to see a loved one suffer from so much pain and feeling tired and sick all day.
We can only hope for good results, so we will have some years together, and for our son to have a father for another few years.
It's not in our hands anymore...........................................

I was surprised to find an award in my email.

Creative Blogger, Thank you Stephie.

I was inspired to paint snowdrops after watching a dvd of Ann Blockly.

Some daisies, also witout drawing.

These are some others I did when I stayed with Stephie in London.
We picked up some leaves and used them as example to paint from live.
Done without drawing.

This is one of the paintings I did during my stay. The spooky cat, or Rosie.

It has been a while since I posted, because lots has happened.

I start to tell you about my wonderful stay in London with my friend Stephie. From 8 November till 14 November.

We painted almost all week together, except for one day. That day we went to the exhibition in Tate Britain, called "Turner and the Masters".

A unique exhibition, which showed paintings of Turner with next to it a painting of the original of another master. It was a great experience to see who influenced Turner during his life.
The photo was taken by Stephie.

My brother asked me months ago for a portrait of his wife. I took pictures of her regularly until I had a photo that was good enough to paint from. Natural light on her face that is much better then flashlight. My brother and sister in law were very pleased with it.

Sunflowers

When I came back from my Holiday in Germany, my first client for Shiatsu massage brought me a great bunch of sunflowers, so when he was gone I started painting right away.

I started this with a background and from there on I formed the flowers, I think I call it Orange blush.

Another view

Lausitzer Findlingspark, Nochten

This is a large rock garden, a landscape park, the only one in Europe of this size, 17 ha.

Ofcourse it changes with the season, I didn't know there were so many different heather.

Spreewald, Germany

Last week I returned from a week in Germany.

The area is called Spreewald, lots of woods and canals.

So beautiful there. We didn't get to visit Berlin, it was too warm.

Instead we visited places in the area.

Friday, 10 July 2009

Today I finished a small landscape in acrylics, 30x 40 cm/12x16".

It's a view on the dike, with the old houses in front of the dike.

Behind that high dike is the sea.

Hollyhocks

Saturday I came across lots and lots of hollyhocks.

Beautiful. I took lots of photo's and this is one of them.

Today I catched up with some challenges. This was one of them: "Ask a family member what kind of animal you are". the answer was "you are a cat......... very sweet, but sometimes you have nails".

A view of Barga, inkpen and watercolor.

Tuscany, Italy

I just spent a week in Barga, Italy with 2 friends from the UK. We had a great week. Beautiful weather, so we could sit outside the house on a huge terras and paint the gorgeous views of the town Barga and the Serchio Valley.
